Introduction
Welcome! My name is Vanessa Nieto and I created this digital portfolio as a part of my Master's degree to demonstrate my mastery of Instructional Technology & ISTE NETS-C standards. However, it doesn't quite capture my complete professional learning journey.
I have dedicated the past fifteen years of my life to empowering others & I've been galvanized in the process. That is to say, I have worked and learned alongside inspirational people from all over the world, both online & in person. Over the years I have taught internationally, in private & public school settings, at colleges and in community centers, from adolescent to adult learners. My adaptability has been tested time and again and proven invaluable to my success. Not only have I evolved to meet my community’s needs, I have thrived in diverse roles such as: teacher, trainer, project lead, peer mentor, technology coach, event publicist, curriculum developer, committee chair, early technology adopter, and communications specialist. Furthermore, I am by emboldened by effective teamwork. I have worked on professional teams to tackle projects such as developing complex courses, improving departmental effectiveness through data analysis and measured goal-setting, delivering engaging professional development seminars, and mentoring new teachers and employees through transitions. My tenacity is boundless; accordingly, I am no stranger to rolling up my sleeves to gather data, connect regularly with community partners and customers, and make innovative changes in my professional community to promote growth for all. I also have initiative and the leadership skills necessary to engage and support others. I have coached scores of teachers in faculty trainings, improvement initiatives, and effective technology implementation. I have stood in front of countless groups of unruly middle and high schoolers and won their attention and dedication through compassion and a true sense of what it takes to truly connect and engage.
I invite you to explore my portfolio of work. Be sure to visit the resume section, where you can see various project-based lessons I have created. Also, under each standard, you will find how my Master's course work at Kennesaw State University uniquely addressed ISTE standards for technology. Please feel free to email me if you’d like to put my skills and passion to work.
Best,
Vanessa
